Grown in the warm climates and light, stony soils of the Bridge Pa Triangle and Gimblett Gravels - Church Road Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon has a core of dark berry fruit, cherry and plum that is lifted by top notes of subtle spice, violet, rosewood and cedar. Medium weight on the palate initially, before building to a long, substantial finish.

This wine was grown at Church Road's Matapiro Vineyard in the cooler Crownthorpe Terraces sub-region of Hawke's Bay. This is their most elevated and inland vineyard, where greater fluctuations between day and night-time temperatures are perfect for cultivating aromatics and acidity. Ripe pear, floral and spice aromas are evident on the nose. This Pinot Gris has a fine acid balance and a touch of natural sweetness that helps to build a palate that is soft and approachable, yet still elegant and fresh.

Found in 1897, Church Road combines traditional winemaking techniques with modern thinking and innovation to craft premium, complex wines. The wine has rich pink tones, with aromas of bright raspberry and strawberry fruits. On the palate fine texture and fleshy through the mid palate, finishing with a gentle sweetness, balanced by a crisp acidity and a lingering finish.
